have different colour key to represent different parts of the abuse and manipulation cycle.

Blue - cold and evil of manipulator

warm colours ( pinks ) - warmth and 'honeymoon phase of the manipulator )

purple - confusing mixed signals

the colour scheme will keep changing and jumping around to show that the manipulator will never follow a strict cycle, they can jump between the stages

So that's why I have used pink in the outer rim of this stage as the manipulator goes from sweet to explosions of anger. Across cultures, people intuitively associate red with the concept of anger. This relationship makes sense given that many people get red in the face from increased blood flow when they're angry.

Pink, people associate the color with qualities that are often thought of as feminine, such as softness, kindness, nurturance, and compassion

indicate jealousy or envy. You've probably heard the expression "green with envy." There are different theories as to where this saying comes from.

Green can also be an indicator of a physical illness, such as when someone's complexion turns green. Some believe the link between green and illness created the association between green and envy—as in, envy is an illness of its own.

( this doesn't directly link to confusion, however no colour really creates this feeling, so this colour theory was close enough )

Blue can also create feelings of sadness or aloofness. Consider how a painting that heavily features blue, such as those produced by Picasso during his "blue period," can seem so lonely, sad, or forlorn.

However looking at blue for me personally feels cold and isolating

which the manipulated individual would feel as they in this stage feel no warmth from the manipulator.

Lighter shades of purple are often used to soothe or calm a viewer, hence why it is used in beauty products. Incorporate purple to make a design look more luxurious and wealthy or a lighter purple to show romance and mystery.

skip frame colour theory : colour experiments

I love the concept of a spectrum of hues from a specific colour combining another to create a feeling and emotion : its interesting how purely just colours create evoke thoughts and memories without even the addition of text out any other visual stimuli

installations and museums have always seemed to be the perfect environment to utilise this idea and inject some colour into a normally grayscale war installation
