Description of works from the artist Aurélia Durand :

" I made this video with the new application by Adobe called #AdobeAero, which is an app you can use to create augmented reality on an iPad and iPhone.
The artwork you see in the video is a two-dimensional illustration that I made called "Dreaming about the deep seas". I was inspired by the French adventurer, Jacque Cousteau who is known for filming the deep seas. I have always been fascinated by the deep sea, but also scared by it because it's dark and you don't really know what's in it. I have dreamed about it many times, so I thought I would illustrate that moment here.
The music put a voice to the dream. I worked with the composer, @hjulmandfredrik to create an original sonic experience "

"In this video, I am going to show you how to use the new application by Adobe called #AdobeAero.
I explain how to import your artwork, how to display your elements, how to animate and how to film "

I really like the maximilist element of this work. This is something I want to tap into for possible visuals - as the manipulation made the soldiers thoughts so scrambled and confused

the moving elements are very interactive  - I could show explosions of anger through this method - linking to a manipulation stage

The tracking in a environment is interesting - this could link to the message that manipulation can happen anywhere at anytime - and the stress of the soldier having to navigate through normal life whilst second guessing themselves, there culture and there lives back home

the light up installations in the background of this work are really effective - I could have projection mapping on shapes, or structures to heighten the confusing experience

- even projection map onto war objects like helmets guns, with projected video elements I create

Untitled_Artwork 6.png

could have the visuals of the Vietnamese jungle - as this was the main environments the soldiers were in within the war ( as shown by da 5 bloods )

channeling the manipulation cycle :

have moving elements of death bursting out ad anger explosions

all the elements could from together when zoomed out to create a woman's face, or body/ back of hair - to create the element of fantasy of Hanoi Hannah in the soldiers mind

- then when zoomed into areas of the piece you get to see all the elements that make up the visualisation of the soldier confusion of thoughts due to listening to the manipulation

use colour scheme of the manipulation cycle - to represent the thoughts that Hanoi Hannah created that were kind, then anger fuelled, confused then cold

- have imagery of wives black home that then have elements that pop out and make them distort or look more scary ( as Hanoi Hannah would use manipulative techniques to convince the soldiers that there wives at home were cheating )

- have americanised visuals as Hanoi Hannah made the soldier reminisce about home, by playing old American songs and repeating G.I Joe

- also have contrasting elements of Vietnamese imagery that is beautiful and have elements of america that are not - she tried to make them turn away from there country

- " planes falling like broken birds "

- even have drawn Vietnamese sex hot lines / oversexulaised asian elements within the soldier mind

- overall maximelist confusion of visuals - to represent the confusion of the soldiers mind

ideas.png

then simiar to the example above - have projection mapped elements and / or jungle vines, leaves, camo, green lights in the environment that I present this piece in so it is fully immersive

Underwater Orchestra

AR Project with Adobe Aero & Chris Kelly of ProductionCrate.com

"Augmented reality is more accessible than ever before. From a visual effects artist's perspective, nothing is more exciting than real-time VFX. Instantaneous tracking, dimensional sound and live-editing are the future of the industry. With @AdobeAero, you're able to do all of that on your iPhone, iPad, and computer! "

I really like the three dimensional element to this example - I will do experiments into this

I worked with my friend Gerardo Garcia Jr. who composed music for the Underwater Orchestra scene.

"For our approach to the music, we wanted to provide distinct melodies and sounds for each coral that when put together, create a dreamy Caribbean symphony. Loops were created for each individual instrument so that they can seamlessly repeat."

I would love to mix my own music

possibly on my decks to create a mixed

music piece for my work. play around

with distorting Hanoi Hannahs speech

also within the music

- use Vietnamese traditional songs

American nostaligic songs

I like the interactive element of marshmallow laser feasts VR tracking multi location installation. I would have to research into how to link an action of ' a ball dropping onto a metal plate ' in real life and make it link to the AR/VR to create a reaction in the digital space

I like the

chaos of the hyperreality by Keiichi Matsuda. This is the maximalist visual data I want to create in my response. I could even do a room similar to hyperreality, where the viewer can find things plastered on a wall, under tables, etc.
