I want my layouts in my final publication to start presenting ( breaking the grid layouts to show freedom, free will, experimentation, playfulness and comfort ) at the lighter representation of sex. Then as the publication continues gets more and more darker the gird becomes more rigid, to represent women who are trapped in traumatic sexual experiences
inspirations for grid layout design
a bizarre link to my grid layouts and to movie inspiration is Wes Anderson's quirky symmetrical videography technique. I am a huge fan of his work and his perfectly aligned grid format cinematic style sets him apart from other directors.
This style could only be achievable by following s grid.
When watching his movies you can immediately tell the precision and detail of every moving image, and the positioning and framing of each scene. It feels a little jarring at times and off key, and this is a feeling I want to capture within my last page spread. The last cage grid format is formal ( above ), rigid and formulaic similar to Wes Anderson's artistic style.
