P. s this development page was made after my last tutorial session so there are elements I am going to change for the final print
- changing colours to duo tone to fit more to brief and have two versions for my portfolio
- text capitals and spacing etc.

Above is my mockup up of layout originally. It helped a lot printing it out to see visually how the publication will flow and to experiment with this. I will be using MMU print services to print on some specialist paper I have got from G.F smiths. Above is just uni printers so not what the final quality will look like
The final pages will not have the white borders, this is just for now. I went through a system of changing out an image to my other favourtie screenshots of that spread to see how visually it looked with the other spreads
Not any sexual imagery so not staying to books overall theme ( just man and collaged elements )
too overwhelming - can't read text very well
I do love this image so so much, but the writing text isn't that easy to read. And I could change the text but it works visually and spacing wise for the rest of the accompanying video for this spread
to many different typefaces - not enough imagery
- looks bland compared to other spreads
I don't like how the womans back is the main image - lacks engagement
- love the scattered pieces but the spacing of visuals looks to similar to my chosen screenshot of the following spread
I really also like this screenshot so so much so it was a very difficult decision
- however to stay to my theme throughout my publication the imagery needs to get more and more distressing and structured at this stage and this felt to simple soft and structured too early on in the publication
I like how you can see the whole computer I think that is very visually interesting, however the image is too blurry at this part of the video and it moves pretty fast onto other visuals - so for printing the quality isn't there
I have chosen this one over my original line up as after placing this with the other spreads the hues of colours matches well and the business of the imagery works well in-between the spreads before and after

again love this image however I prefer the subtly of sex suggested in the image in the line up at the top of the website page
- more suggestive than this one which is more fitting for the start of the publication
- images overlap - not as clean cut and strict in grid formation and layout that I am after for this late in the publication
- but do really like the blown out candle, but just don't like as much visually as the one one in the lineup
the image even though sexual fetishes like this one have the shock factor, I think this image printed will bring humour more than I would like in my publication as the the imagery gets darker and darker on the pages following and more bizarre so I don't want o discredit these
I wanted to try this spread out with less squared imagery
- but I don't think it resembles a cage enough which is the concept
- but it do really enjoy it visually however needs to be busier as it is the last spread of the publication
to get the printed quality I require, instead of having to send the spread off because I have already spent £5 on the G.F smith samples that I will show below, and am going to be spending extra money on sourcing some faux blue velvet for the cover and promotion I decided to use MU print.
- If I had more money to spend I would get this professionally printed for a higher quality more controlled print
- however MMU print does allow to use your own paper stock so I will use my paper from G.F smiths
- above is a two samples on MMU prints own paper stock 140gsm and 170gsm so I could get a feel for the printing quality

G.F samples : if I have time experiment on colour plan paper but will just use everyday Mohawk everyday and Muncken paper stock gradually going from smoother to more grainy as the publication develops - representing the topics visually shown getting darker and dirtier ( in a tainted way ).
I wanted to see if the crease would disrupt the image on higher gsm ( this one is 170 ) and its doesn't which is very good.
lastly I did a mockup of how I want my binding to work so I am prepared and know how to print before going to the binding workshop.

my inspiration is my friends Helen
Swarbrick and Stella Lloyd Davies
binded publikation they made a couple years ago
- it looks professional and really beautiful
- works well with material covers - which mine is going to be
a mockup of my publication
size A5
Just realised I I've forgotten to print of spread 7 so in all these mockups .
